This stone house, recently restored, was built 150 years ago.

From here you overlook the age-old olive trees of Monte Pisano, sweet hills which separate this valley from the coast.
Only 9 km away, you'll find the beautiful medieval city of Lucca, birthplace of the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini and well-known around the world for its unique Walls.
The motorways will easily connect you to the most interesting Tuscan cities: Pisa, San Gimignano, Pistoia, Siena, Florence, Carrara with its famous marble quarries, Vinci with its Leonardo Museum, Volterra with its Etruscan Museum and Collodi with its Pinocchio Park.
Also, from “PICCOLO PARADISO” you can easily reach Montecatini Terme (15 km), San Giuliano Terme (10 km) and Bagni di Lucca (20 km) or visit the magnificent "Ville Lucchesi", as Villa Reale, Villa Torrigiani, Villa Mansi, Villa Mazzarosa ... .
The Versilian beaches of Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Lido di Camaiore are only 30 minutes away. And don't forget Torre del Lago with its famous Puccini Festival.
Sea lovers can't miss the natural beauties of Isola d'Elba and the other little islands of the Tuscan Archipelago.
At the end of the day, after a delicious Tuscan dinner in one of the nearby restaurants, for example La Cantina di Alfredo (2 km), La Casina delle Rose (5km), La Conca (2 km), Palajola (3 km), La Baracca di Nanni (5 km) or Il Gattino Bianco (1 km), you can relax on the terrace, sipping a glass of good wine, bought in one of the numerous wine cellars spread along the "Strade del Vino" on the surrounding hills.
During the summer don't miss the many, typical "Sagras", where the local residents and the tourists gather to taste typical dishes made with local specialties, like mushrooms, polenta, tortelli and beans, drinking good wine and dancing all night.

On the green hills around PICCOLO PARADISO, immersed in the scents and the colours of the Tuscan country, there also is a fitness-trail with pic-nic tables.
Near the house (1 km) there are: a supermarket, a bank, a post-office and the local oil mill (Frantoio Sociale) where you can buy a tasteful extra-virgin olive oil and other typical products of the area.
It would be interesting to go to one of the many springs of this area, like the well-known S. Giusto spring in the near village of S. Andrea di Compito.
PICCOLO PARADISO features its traditional “sand-blasted" ceilings with old stone floors and panoramic windows.
It composes of:
- a roomy, fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, oven, stone fireplace;
- a dining room with a big table and its typical Lucchese chairs, an old chest and a traditional kneading trough where women used to make bread from scratch;
- a very well furnished living-room with a comfortable sofa and a rocking chair.
A staircase leads to the first floor.
On the right, you will find a master bedroom furnished in Art Nouveau style while, on the left, there is a pretty single bedroom.
A little corridor leads to a French red marble tiled bathroom with tub and bidet.
The second floor features a mansard with two beds and an extra room.
From here, you will have a complete and unforgettable view on the Compitese hills.
The whole house has a gas heating system and can accomodate all year long whoever desires to discover the beauties of this area .
